Multiplex SA

We updated the Multiplex in-line gathering and sewing system so that the size change is now totally automatic. It still consists of up to three Aster 220 SA or Aster 2000 or Astronic 180 sewing machines connected to the Meccanotecnica MX gathering machine by an automatic loading system. Book blocks can be unloaded from the sewers using either the Plus stackers or the Bombix automatic unloading system. The Multiplex system cuts costs by streamlining production and significantly reducing required personnel.

Uniplex

The Uniplex is our newest, less expensive in-line gathering and sewing system. Unlike the expandable Multiplex, the Uniplex has a fixed configuration with one Aster 160 OS or an Astronic 180 sewing machine and up to 12 MX gathering pockets. A hand-feed station is the only option that we can add at a later date. We designed the Uniplex so that many more small and medium-sized binderies can automate their gathering and sewing operations.

Bombix

The Bombix system performs automatic loading of gathered signatures into a line of Aster 220 SA or Aster 2000 or Astronic 180 sewing machines. It also automatically unloads sewn book blocks and transports them to a stacker, a palletizer or a finishing line. The Bombix system eliminates operator presence at the delivery of the gathering machine. It also eliminates the non-productive operations of forming and transporting pallets. The Bombix system dramatically reduces personnel required for gathering and sewing.

Bombax

The Bombax system performs automatic loading of gathered signatures into a line of Aster 220 SA or Aster 2000 or Astronic 180 sewing machines. It differs from the Bombix at the signature transport conveyor. In the Bombax the signatures travel at ground level. It eliminates operator presence at the delivery of the gathering machine. It also eliminates the non-productive operations of forming and transporting pallets. The Bombax can be connected to gathering machines of various brands.

Magix

We designed this gathering and sewing line for automatic transport of sewn book blocks into the feeder of a finishing line. It reduces personnel and processing time to a minimum. The unloading segment of the Magix can also be fitted on new or existing Multiplex, Bombax and Bombix lines. The delivery of each machine stacks books into a pile. An elevator transfer the piles to an overhead coveyor which forwards them to the next downstream operation.
