The new economy model Aster 180C is the most compact sewing machine on the market. The feeder and the sewing unit are mounted side-by-side on a single base frame. The book sewing machine Aster 180C offers most of the features found on larger Aster models and a maximum mechanical speed of 180 cycles/min achieved by employing a more powerful motor.

The sewer saddle is driven by a camshaft running in a sealed oil-filled compartment (cam box). The newly designed leveler bar on the sewing saddle, which keeps signatures in the right position during sewing, is also made of carbon fiber.
